SHRED: Fun on Skis
Posted on December 15, 2012
One of the many perks of growing up on a Ski Resort is an unlimited access to shred complimented by an intimate knowledge of the terrain. The mountains of Banff National Park are my playground; they come to life with fresh snow courtesy of Mother Nature and are animated by wonderful characters. I love life on top of the mountains.
Another perk of growing up on a Mountain is the freedom to demo as much new gear as I want. Sunshine Village has a wicked demo rental tent that is loaded with all the seasons’ high performance Salomon gear. The demo tent is a great place to start shopping for new gear.
I have snowboarded almost exclusively since I was 16; I love my shred gear and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Snowboarding is my freedom, my escape from reality. When I started snowboarding, I put my skies away and never looked back…although I do find skier boys awfully cute. Now, I find myself possessing a returned interest in skiing, (maybe it will help me catch a skier boy). I rock skis maybe once a year and am always impressed with the playfulness of the new all mountain and twin tip skis.
It’s fun to play and sweat outside of one’s comfort zone.
