- Announce your resolution on your social networks:
The act of announcing your goal will make you more accountable to following through. Let your friends in on you goal and allow them to help you on the journey. Social Media is rich with fitness groups, by announcing your new years resolution on social media you can meet a whole new community of like-minded people.
- Block out Workout Time and Schedule Reminders in your calendar:
If your resolutions require that you set time aside–like going to the gym–take advantage of your smartphone’s calendar and schedule time in advance. This way, you’ll be less likely to skip out on your commitments when someone asks you to make conflicting plans. Your smart phone calendar can also be used to break each goal down into smaller steps by setting a due date and reminder.
- Reward your self for milestone accomplishments:
Once you have committed to your resolution for a few weeks research a few gadgets that will be able to help assist you with your goals. Treat yourself to a new workout outfit that looks fabulous on you. Studies show that if you invest in a goal you will be more likely to stay committed. We seem to like avoiding sunk costs when ever possible.

- Find a Community online or in person to help motivate you to accomplish your goals:
It is was to easy to feel discouraged when tackling something alone. Remember you’re not alone. there are so many wonderful online communities dedicated to specific goals and interests. Research one that fits your needs. Even if your online group aren’t your real life friends that act of witnessing their progress and sharing advice will help keep you feeling motivated.
